Tuna Fish Balls
1 tin tuna (170 gms)
1 large onion chopped finely
1 medium potato
1” pc ginger
2 cloves garlic
2-3 green chilies
1 tsp pepper powder
Few curry leaves chopped
3-4 tbsp coriander leaves chopped
Breadcrumbs to coat
Oil for deep frying
Boil the potato or cut into chunks and cook in the microwave.
Mince ginger, garlic and green chilies. (Pulse in a blender)
Drain the oil or water from the tuna and flake it with your fingers.
Heat 2 tbsp oil and saute onions. When it turns translucent, add minced garlic, ginger and curry leaves and saute till nicely brown.
Add tuna flakes and mix well. Stir for few minutes and take off fire. Add pepper powder and coriander leaves and mix well and let it cool.
Add mashed potatoes and mix well. Adjust salt.
Make small balls, dip in beaten egg and roll in breadcrumbs.
Heat oil and deep fry till golden brown.
Serve with ketchup or any sauce of your choice.
To speed up the process of coating breadcrumbs, make small balls of the complete mixture.
Beat egg in a shallow plate. Place bread crumbs in a large pan or plate with edges.
Place all the tuna ball in the egg mixture, pick all one by one and put in the plate with breadcrumbs. Just roll the plate in circular motion. All will get coated in no time!!
