½ cup masoor dal
2 tbsp chopped garlic
2 tbsp chopped ginger
½ onion chopped
1 tsp chili powder
¼ tsp turmeric powder
1 tomato chopped
1 tsp cumin seeds or powder
3 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
In a pan, add masoor dal, garlic, ginger, onion, chili powder, turmeric powder and half chopped tomato and 1 ½ cup water and cook till soft.
Add more water if required and add salt.
To temper, heat oil in another pan and add cumin. Stir and add half chopped tomato. When it becomes mushy, add to dal. Add coriander leaves and mix well. Take off fire and serve hot 🙂
