Calamari /Squid Fry
3-4 medium squids cleaned
½ cup corn flour
½ cup bread crumbs + ½ tsp salt mixed
½ tsp pepper powder
1 tsp soya sauce
½ tsp garlic powder or paste
Oil for deep frying
In a small bowl add egg, soya sauce, pepper powder, garlic powder and salt and beat well with a fork.
Wipe the squids dry with a paper towel and cut into rings of ¼”.
Turn the rings inside out and dust with corn flour.
Dip in beaten egg and roll in breadcrumbs.
Heat oil and deep fry 4-5 squid rings at a time on fairly high heat. (If the temperature is low, the squids will release water and it will become rubbery).
Fry for approx 30 seconds only.
Drain on a paper towel. Serve hot.
