Background looks more green than Chutney! Its the light issue in evenings…don’t judge the taste of this chutney by this photograph!! Its perfect for Chaats!
1 cup chopped coriander leaves
½ cup chopped mint leaves
½ “ piece ginger
½ tsp chaat masala OR ½ tsp cumin powder +1/2 tsp black salt
2-3 green chili
1 tbsp lemon juice
Salt to taste
Grind all ingredients to a smooth paste with little water.
Perfect chutney for all types of chaats!
Pudina Chutney for Idli/Dosa

¾ -1 cup mint leaves
½ cup coconut
1-2 green chilis
Small pc of tamarind or 1 tsp lemon juice
Small pc of ginger
1 tsp urad dal
1 tsp chana dal
2 pinch cumin powder (optional)
½ tsp mustard seeds
½ tsp urad dal
2-3 pcs dry red chili
Few curry leaves
2 pinch asfoetida
1 tbsp oil
Dry roast urad dal and chana dal.
Add to the grinder bowl along with all other ingredients.
Add some water and grind to a smooth paste.
Heat a pan and add oil.
Add mustard seeds and urad dal.
When mustard splutters add dry chilis, curry leaves and asfoetida.
Lower flame and add mint paste and mix well.
Add some water to get the consistency you desire. Check salt.
When it starts to simmer take off fire.
Serve with dosa, idli or paniyaram.
Or is it Bread Sandwich Pakoda……end result is tasty!
Bread Pakoda Sandwich
6 slices sandwich bread
3 tbsp tomato ketchup
6 tbsp green chutney
Oil for deep frying
Make a batter:
½ cup chickpea flour (besan)
2 tbsp corn flour
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp chili powder
1 pinch baking soda
Make a pourable batter adding enough water to the batter ingredients.
Spread ketchup on 3 slices of bread and green chutney on the other 3 slices.
Sandwich them together and cut into triangles.
Dip in the batter and ensure all sides are covered.
Deep fry till golden brown. Cut and serve.
Green Chutney for Sandwiches

Few mint leaves (optional)
½ cup grated coconut
1 large clove garlic
1 small piece ginger
1-2 green chilies
2-3 tbsp yogurt (can substitute mayonnaise)
Grind all together to form chutney. That it!
Spread on bread and cut into wedges. It’s a tasty tiffin for kids.
